The Zhundong Jiangjunmiao to Hami Naomuhu (Baishihu South) Railway Second Track Expansion Project is located in Hami City and Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture. This project is a reconstruction and expansion, starting at Bulak Station on the Jiangnao Railway and ending at Jiangjunmiao Station on the Wujiang Railway. The length of the second track expansion from Bulak (inclusive) to Shiqiantan (inclusive) is 381.47 km, and the length of the reconstruction of the Jianghei and Jiangnao Railways (double track) is 4.29 km. The reconstruction project from Shiqiantan Station (exclusive) to Jiangjunmiao involves the addition of a 2.60 km second track at both ends of Jiangjunmiao East Station, and the reconstruction of Jiangjunmiao East Station and Jiangjunmiao Station (3.26 km in total).

The project is constructed to National Railway Class I standards, double track, with a design speed of 120 km/h. The Jiangnao Railway and Jianghei Railway connecting line project has a total length of 6.67 km, including one newly built single-track extra-large bridge (1768.79m), one single-track medium bridge (92.87m), and one culvert (16.12m in length).

The Jiangnao Railway connects large coal bases such as Zhundong, Santanghu, and Naomohu. Previously, due to the limited capacity of the single-track line, some coal transportation relied on road transport, resulting in high logistics costs and significant annual carbon emissions. With the opening of the two stations, the regional railway capacity has been initially released, paving the way for the subsequent goal of exceeding 50 million tons of annual transport volume. Taking the Santanghu Basin as an example, the Nantaizi Station, located on the piedmont plain of the basin, can directly handle coal transportation from surrounding mining areas after its operation, with an estimated increase in monthly transport volume of over 300,000 tons. Railway transport replacing road transport can reduce carbon emissions per unit of cargo by 60%. Based on long-term transport volume calculations, this can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by hundreds of thousands of tons annually, achieving a win-win situation for energy supply security and green development.

In 2025, Anyang Railway Equipment Co., Ltd. supplied 1,595,530 sets of 60kg/m rail elastic clip type II fastening system (TB/T3065-2020), 20,509 sets of 50kg/m rail elastic clip type I fastening system (TB/T3065-2020), 2,701 sets of 50kg/m rail clip type IIR fastening system, 4,210 sets of 50kg/m rail elastic clip type I split type fastening system (for ballastless track), and 56 sets of 60kg/m rail elastic clip type I split type fastening system (for ballastless track) to the Zhundong Jiangjunmiao to Hami Naomuhu (Baishihu South) Railway Second Line Expansion Project.
