The Jinan-Qingdao High-speed Railway is a high-speed railway connecting Jinan and Qingdao in Shandong Province, China. The construction of the Jinan-Qingdao high-speed railway started on August 11, 2015; The track laying was completed on the whole line on December 30, 2017; it was completed and put into operation on December 26, 2018.
As of January 10, 2019, the Jinan-Qingdao high-speed railway starts from Jinan East Station in the west and ends at Hongdao Station in the east, with a total length of 307.9 km and a total of 11 stations. The initial operating speed is 300 km/h; the design speed of the Jiaozhou North-Hongdao section is 250 km/h, and the train operating speed is 250 km/h.
The 500-meter long rail used in the Jinan-Qingdao high-speed railway has a weight of 60 kg/m and the weight of a single rail reaches 30 tons. When laying each long rail of more than 500 m, a tractor needs to be pulled in front, the long rail car is pushed, and the distance between the two rails is fixed by the rungs.
