Changsha, also known as Star City, is a prefecture-level city, the provincial capital, megacity under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province, and an important central city in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River approved by the State Council. Changsha Metro Line 3 is the 4th line of Changsha Rail Transit (opened simultaneously with Line 5). Construction started on January 3, 2019, trial operation began on December 30, 2019, and trial operation began on June 28, 2020.
