Till September 2020, Kunming Metro has opened 5 operating lines, namely Kunming Metro Line 1, Kunming Metro Line 2, Kunming Metro Line 3, Kunming Metro Line 4, and Kunming Metro Line 6.
Kunming Rail Transit Line 1 is one of the backbone lines of Kunming Rail Transit, the construction of Kunming Rail Transit Line 1 started on December 19, 2008, and the southern section was opened on May 20, 2013. The branch line of Kunming Rail Transit Line 1 was connected to the first phase of Line 1 and Line 2 on October 3, 2016 to test run.
