Chongqing Rail Transit Line 5 is the north-south backbone line of Chongqing Rail Transit, and the first subway line in the world that can realize the interconnection of urban rail transit. The section from Garden Expo Center Station to Dalongshan Station opened for trial operation on December 28, 2017; the section from Dalongshan Station to Dashiba Station opened for trial operation on December 24, 2018; the section from Shiqiaopu Station to Tiaodeng Station opened in 2021 On January 20, the trial operation was opened.
As of January 2021, the operating mileage of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 5 is 35.02 km, with a total of 22 stations, including 18 underground stations and 4 elevated stations.
