The Elastic Rail Fastening System means the elastic fixing parts are used to fasten the rails with sleepers.

The type I and typeⅡ rail fasteners used to fasten steel rails such as 60 kg/m and 50kg/m in China on concrete sleeper lines are composed of bolt spikes, nuts, flat washers, spring clips, gauge baffles, baffle seats, It is composed of under-rail rubber pads, insulating buffer pads, insulating anti-corrosion coatings, and sulfur anchoring parts. Large height adjustment fasteners suitable for concrete wide sleepers, track slabs, or monolithic track beds, such as typeⅠheight adjustment fasteners, typeⅠheight adjustment blade fasteners, and TF-Y type elastic clip fasteners, etc., also belong to elastic rail fastening system.

Rail fasteners

According to the type of sleeper, it is divided into two categories: timer sleeper line fasteners and concrete sleeper lines (other types of the concrete line under locomotives)

Rail joints and rail seams

The standard length of steel rail in China s 12.5m and 25m. For the 75kg/m rail, there are 25m long only. 50m and 100m long steel rails are used to lay seamless tracks. There are also shortened rails for the inner strands of the curve. For the 12.5m standard series of shortened rails, there are three types of short 40mm, 80mm, and 120mm; for the 25m rail, there are three types of short 40mm, 80mm, and 160mm.

The rails on the track are connected by joint bars and bolts, which are called rail joints. The wheel-rail dynamic effect at the joint is large, and the maintenance workload is large. The joint is one of the weak links of the railhead structure.

According to the position of the joint relative to the sleeper, it can be divided into two types: suspended type and cushion type.

According to the mutual position of the two rail joints, it can be divided into two types: relative type and staggered type.

The relatively suspended type is generally adopted in China, that is, the joints of the two steel rails are aligned left and right, and are located between the two joint sleepers at the same time.

Rail joints can be divided into ordinary rail joints, compromise rail joints, insulating rail joints, expansion joints, frozen rail joints, etc. according to their performance.
