Development of ZHBR Railway Rail Fastener System

Indivisible non-lining elastic fastening of ZHBR ensures that the rail is pressed against the sleeper using two-layer flat spring clips. The bend of the lower branch of the clip serves as a stop for the rail foot. Transverse forces from the clip are transmitted through the sub-clip insert to the edge of the groove in the sleeper. Hanging flanges of the elastic rail pad prevent it from crawling out from under the rail. When adjusting the position of the rail in height up to 15 mm, replace the gaskets and sub-cip inserts with thicker ones.

The advantage of these fasteners is greater bolt tension stability than that of the KB fastener, but there are also significant drawbacks. The assembly of the rail-sleeper grating on the bases of the ICP with these fasteners has a significantly greater labor intensity. The stability of the track width in curves is also insufficient.
In the modernized lining fastener ZHBR-65P, instead of flat terminals, spring clips and a metal lining are used, which makes it possible to more reliably stabilize the track gauge. Another feature of this option is the use of an embedded bolt (plastic void former) in a reinforced concrete sleeper for electrical insulation. The elasticity of the track is provided by two spacers - under-rail and padded.
The non-lining screw-dowel fastening ZHBR-65SH has two screws, which are screwed into the dowels embedded in the sleeper, and press the terminals to the rail foot. The main advantage of this design is the absence of embedded bolts and nuts, which eliminates the time-consuming operation of periodically tightening the nuts.
